Stick on apple jacks9/13/2023 It’s just not great to use for modern games. This reissue of the original Xbox pad is a love letter to the salad days of 2001. One of the dumbest yet most endearing controllers is the Hyperkin Duke. It’s also one of the smaller options around, though the ergonomics may feel hit or miss depending on your hand size. The Nacon Pro Compact Controller has some of the Revolution X’s excellent software customization at a much lower price.Unlike most kid-centric gamepads, it looks just like a full-size model, and unlike our budget pick from PowerA above, this one ditches Micro USB for USB-C (hallelujah!). PowerA’s Nano Enhanced Wired Controller is an adorably smol guy for people with tinier hands or children. It also offers a lot of software customization at an affordable price, but its shoulder buttons are a bit stiff. Briefly mentioned above, the Horipad Pro has one of the best D-pads around. It has more customizable buttons than any other controller (six total), though their positioning requires reaching, and it’s a bit pricey. Razer’s Wolverine V2 Chroma is a feast for the ears and eyes, thanks to very clicky buttons and a strip of RGB lighting along the grips. It’s a good value, especially if you find it on sale for as low as $29.99, maintaining some of the best features of the Recon for cheaper. Turtle Beach’s React-R is a stripped-down Recon that maintains Superhuman Hearing and rear buttons but omits EQ presets, mic monitoring, and Pro-Aim for a lower $39.99 price. We once saw it dip to $24.99, and if that started happening with regularity, it could arguably give the PowerA Enhanced Wired a challenge for the crown of best budget controller. It costs $44.99 but is often discounted to $35.99. 8BitDo’s Ultimate Wired Controller for Xbox and PC is a quality affordable gamepad with two rear buttons and software customization, though the lengthy USB cable is not detachable. Its D-pad is a little too stiff, but what makes this gamepad unique is it comes with two magnetic face plates - one black, one white - that are primed for personalization with spray paint or markers. The GameSir G7 is an excellent wired controller with textured grip material feeling a tiny bit like a Scuf, clicky face buttons like a Razer and two programmable rear buttons. No data may be used in states that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. It was useful for self-defense indoors where the long katana and intermediate wakizashi were inconvenient. The kaiken is an 8–10 inch long, single- or double-edged daggerwithout ornamental fittings housed in a plain mount, formerly carried by men and women of the samurai class in Japan. Swords mounted in this manner are worn with the cutting edge up as opposed to the tachi mounting, in which the sword is worn with the cutting edge down. Uchigatana (katana) The uchigatana style koshirae is the most commonly known koshirae and it is what is most associated with a samurai sword. The ken, a sword with a straight double-edged blade based on Chinese prototypes, was used in Japan from at least the third century until the sixth century. The tachi style koshirae preceded the uchigatana (katana) style koshirae. The unintended ambiguity of the phrase was a double-edged sword: it spurred litigation but it also ended up shielding good-faith actors. The katana is characterized by its distinctive appearance: a curved, slender, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate. The hilt was usually secured with two pegs (mekugi), as compared to one peg for shorter blades including uchigatana and katana. ( figuratively) A neutral principle that has applications that may be either positive ( beneficial) or negative ( adverse) to ones own interests. The tachi style koshirae is the primary style of mounting used for the tachi, where the sword is suspended edge-down from two hangers (ashi) attached to the obi.The hilt often had a slightly stronger curvature than the blade, continuing the classic tachi increase in curvature going from the tip to the hilt. Koshirae were meant not only for functional but also for aesthetic purposes, often using a family mon (crest) for identification. During the Edo period, many formalized rules were put into place: in times of war the hilt should be presented to the right allowing the sword to be readily unsheathed. Gaisō (外装) are the "outer" mountings, as opposed to tōshin (刀身), the "body" of the sword.Ī koshirae should be presented with the tsuka (hilt) to the left, particularly in times of peace with the reason being that you cannot unsheathe the sword easily this way. More commonly "tsukuru" is used in its place with both words meaning to "make, create, manufacture." A more accurate word is tōsō (刀装), meaning sword-furniture, where tōsōgu (刀装具) are the parts of the mounting in general, and "kanagu" stands for those made of metal. Send us feedback about these examples. The word koshirae is derived from the verb koshiraeru (拵える), which is no longer used in current speech. In addition to these commands, the shell has a few helpful features, one of which is the existence of environment variables. The shell is the program you're interacting with whenever you type something into the terminal, and is always running. The following syntax is used to specify flags:Īll of the commands described above are not programs, but functionality built into the shell. For example, -i flag makes grep case insensitive, -v flag prints out lines that do not match the specified pattern, -c flag prints out the number of the lines that contain the pattern, and -n flag prints out the matched lines and their line numbers. You can also add certain flags to the grep command, that will act as filters for search. For example, you can also print out a list of executed commands with a specific pattern by combining history with grep. Grep can be combined with other commands. The grep (globally search for regular expression and print out) command searches a file and displays all lines that contain a specified pattern (pattern can be just one word, or a whole sentence): The list is numbered, and you can execute a certain command from the history using ! command followed by the number of the command you want to run: You can see the full list of the commands you have executed with the history command: If you forget how to use a command, simply type that command followed by -h to get a description of it. Most of these commands have a help or -h option. A word of warning-it is very easy to accidentally delete important information. The recursive option is called such because it recursively deletes everything it finds. This will remove everything in that directory, files and subdirectories included. However, if you want to remove an entire directory (even if it's empty), you will have to pass it the -r option (short for recursive): For a regular file, you can choose not to pass it any options at all: You will pass this command different options, depending on what it is you want to remove. This command will permanently delete anything you tell it to (no trash bin!). If you want to delete a file or folder, you can use the rm command (short for remove). To display the content of a document you can use the cat command: You can then edit this file with a text editor of your choice (e.g., nano, vim, or emacs). If instead of a folder you would rather create a blank text file, you can use the touch command: For example, if you are in /gpfs/home/ and want to move to a subdirectory in that folder, just give cd the subdirectory name. A relative path does not start with a forward-slash, and fills in each subdirectory level up to the directory you're currently in. An absolute path begins with a forward-slash and specifies each level of subdirectories, starting from the root folder (which contains gpfs). You can change your directory using either an absolute or relative path. To change your present working directory, you can use the cd command, which stands for change directory. The home subdirectory of /gpfs contains all users' home directories. The top-level directory, equivalent to C: on Windows, is always /gpfs. When you type the pwd command, your working directory will be printed out to you: Your working directory is the command line equivalent of your current folder in Windows Explorer or Finder-it's the directory that you're currently looking at. Typing in ls will result in a list of files and subdirectories being printed back to you, all of which are located in your present working directory. ls and pwdĪfter you have done this, you can use the ls command to verify that the directory has been created without issue. Here, is the name you want to give the folder. You can make subdirectories, files, and even install software here. This is your own private folder to store things related to your work. When you first log in you will arrive in your home directory. Here, the use of the terminal is mandatory, so it is important that you know your way around it. Windows and OS X both have their own version of the terminal, even though most users choose not to use them. Unlike a desktop, you interact with this operating system through the terminal, sometimes referred to as the command line. SeaWulf uses CentOS as its operating system, one of the many variants of Linux. It serves to get you acquainted with the environment you will be interacting with once on the system. This guide assumes you have already received access to SeaWulf, and that you are able to log in. But, it also needs to implement getName since it implements the IUserInfo interface.īut, it violates the Interface segregation principle since it implements methods it doesn’t use. Let’s look into it with an example Ĭonsider that you have an interface, IUserInfo, that implements two methods.Ĭlasses that implement “IUserInfo” has to declare those two methods even if they don’t need those methods for the specific classes.įor example, User2 just needs to implement getEmail method. Interface segregation principle states that a class or entity should never force it to implement methods it doesn’t need while implementing or extending the functionality. This principle enforces that it should follow the standard in an application. When we extend the Vehicle class on ModelA, we can access parent class methods in the subclass. ModelA, ModelB extends the base class Vehicle. Here, we have three classes Vehicle, ModelA, and ModelB. You should be able to replace a parent class and its methods with any of its child classes and its method without breaking an existing system. To put it in simple terms, when you replace an object of your superclass with an object of a subclass, it should work the same. “ Let Φ(x) be a property provable about objects x of type T, then Φ(y) should be true for objects y of type S where S is a subtype of T. This principle was introduced by Barbara Liskov in 1987. That way, we can avoid breaking the existing functionality and implement a new one. We can still access the properties and method from the parent class and override the method if needed. The same goes for the Admin class as well. Here, we have AppUser class which overrides the getDetails method of the parent class. We can extend that class to create a new one based on our requirements. Let’s understand this principle with an example:Ĭonstructor (name: string, age: string ) `Ĭonst appUser = new AppUser( "Ganesh", )Īs you can see, we have class User which acts as a parent class. This principle states that a class (or) an entity should have only one responsibility and reason to change its behavior. Single responsibility principle is one of the popular principles in the software design process. It helps to write code that is easy to understand by others.īefore we get into the implementation details, Let’s see what SOLID stands for:ĭ - Dependency Inversion Principle. It helps to extend the system without breaking the existing functionality.Write code that is easy to maintain for a longer period. It helps to implement better code design, maintainability, and extendability. Later, Michael Feather re-orders the principle to form the acronym. Martin (popularly known as Uncle Bob) introduced the SOLID principle. In this article, we will see SOLID principles and how to implement those principles while building a software application. I keep reminiscing and revisiting the past, particularly the time when we were in love. Over and over I keep going over the world we knew Overall, the lyrics of "The World We Knew" portray a love that was once perfect, but is now gone, leaving only a bittersweet longing for what used to be. The last stanza repeats the opening line, underscoring the singer's inability to let go of the memories of their past love, specifically "days when you used to love me." However, the dream of this love was "too much for you to hold," perhaps suggesting that the partner was unable to sustain the relationship for various reasons. The metaphor of "each road that we took turned into gold" further emphasizes the specialness of their relationship. They say that "every bright neon sign turned into stars" and "the sun and the moon seemed to be ours," creating a magical, romantic atmosphere that is difficult to forget. The singer describes the past as "inconceivable" and "unbelievable," suggesting that the love they experienced was beyond their wildest dreams. The second line, "Once when you walked beside me," sets the tone for the rest of the song. The use of repetition, both in the opening line and other parts of the song, emphasizes the songwriter's yearning to relive a happy time in their life. The opening line of "Over and over I keep going over the world we knew" suggests that the singer cannot stop reminiscing about their past, particularly the time when they were in love and everything seemed perfect. The lyrics of Josh Groban's "The World We Knew" capture the essence of nostalgia and the longing for a past love. Pinball fx3 reddit9/12/2023 (yeah, yeah…)įinally, not to be outdone by the other announcements, Zen unleashed the bombshell that Twilight Zone would soon be upon us. Given that all of these are fantastic, especially World War Hulk, I cannot wait to dive in on April 13 to put up some scores to truly marvel. The ones mentioned to be in the collection are World War Hulk, Deadpool, Marvel The Avengers, Venom, and Marvel Women of Power Champions. These also release on April 13.Ĭontinuing with remastering news, Zen delivered news of more Marvel tables to join the fray in Marvel Pinball Collection 2. We then were told that the incredible Sorcerer’s Lair table, one of Zen’s originals, along with Fish Tales, a Williams classic, would not only be remastered, but they would also be free to play. Kong Pinball is exactly the sort of prospect so many of us pin lovers dream about, so to say that I was giddy at this announcement is a huge (epic?) understatement! Being able to sink untold hours into a table like Godzilla vs. They are each also highly attractive, using their themes, sounds, and graphics in epic ways, including killer modes of play across all 3 tables. Each of the tables features a hi-res, digital scoreboard. Types of amnesia after head injury9/12/2023 However, they can often remember data and events that occurred before the brain injury. This means a survivor cannot remember new information provided like a conversation they just had. Post-traumatic amnesia can be broken down into several different types: It’s important to understand this is an early stage of recovery in which the brain is healing. This can last from a few minutes to a couple weeks, depending on the severity of the brain injury. During this time the survivor may not be able to recall certain memories. Post-traumatic amnesia typically occurs after a survivor wakes up from a coma, a period of unconsciousness. Damage to one or more of these areas can often result in post-traumatic amnesia. Several regions of the brain are involved in the process of memory including the amygdala, hippocampus, cerebellum, and prefrontal cortex. When amnesia occurs after a concussion or brain injury it is referred to as post-traumatic amnesia. It can inhibits the formation of new memories and/or the recollection of old ones. What Causes Amnesia After Brain Injury?Īmnesia is the loss of memory. This article will discuss how to identify the signs of post-traumatic amnesia and how to help your loved one overcome the challenges of amnesia after brain injury. When a survivor does experience symptoms, it’s important to understand that it’s a sign of recovery and the phase will eventually pass. During this stage, survivors may struggle with memory and exhibit uncharacteristic behaviors, or they may pass through this phase so quickly that they do not experience any symptoms at all. One stage survivors may experience in the recovery process after brain injury is post-traumatic amnesia. Travis scott jordan 1 high blue9/12/2023 Union’s AJKO Lows may lack the flash of its 2018 Air Jordan 1 High collabs, with their cobbled together OG colorways, but they do offer a simple and wearable look with just enough detail to know there’s something special going on. This version is meant to look like one of the most iconic sneakers of all time has been thrust through a number of multiverses, shifting patterns and textures along its journey. Both pairs of Spider-Man 1s now have built off of the traditional Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” color blocking, but add signature details to further both the comic book and Spider-Man stories. Inspired by the multiverse of the latest Spider-Man movie, this shoe comes with a plethora of glitchy details that play off of the animated movie's theme of jumping in and out of different realities. But, much like the Union Jordan 4s, the brand new Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” and tons more like them, the second Spider-Man-themed Jordan 1 started looking much better in more detail. I, myself was ready to call these one of the worst sneakers that I had ever seen off of the first images that we saw. The Air Jordan 1 “Next Chapter” is no exception. It seems like just about every hyped sneaker or collab that gets leaked these days comes with a set of initial images that everyone hates. But in the meantime, it was a refreshing change of pace to see one of MJ’s actual on-court player exclusives hit retail. Would a “True Blue” 3 with “Nike Air” on the heel have been preferable to most fans? Sure, and it’s likely only a matter of time until we get that. Michael Jordan’s late-career return to the court with the Washington Wizards wasn’t particularly memorable from a basketball standpoint, but it did provide some lasting sneaker memories. But when a retro colorway drops for the first time that does have some meaning behind it, it certainly can make for a more interesting release, which is exactly how the “Wizards” Air Jordan 3 landed on this list. And that’s fine-a good colorway doesn’t need to be anything other than just that, as evidenced by many of the OGs we hold in such high regard like the “Grape” Air Jordan 5. So many retro colorways land with no real rhyme or reason to their looks, no story to tell, and no historical significance. As with all of our mid-year lists, we reserve the right to shuffle this order up at the end of the year, when we determine with more finality which were the best Air Jordans, and sneakers in general, of 2023. These are the best Air Jordans of the year, so far. Some of these came with a twist, like the “Wizards” and “Reimagined” Air Jordan 3s, and some stuck to the basics, like the ”Playoff” Air Jordan 13.Īs we hit the halfway mark of 2023, we’re taking a look back at which Air Jordans stood out the most below. Collaborations do not make up all of the list, as much of what we expect from Jordan Brand is classic, familiar colorways. The collaborative projects cover a wide spectrum of partners, like staples Travis Scott and Union LA, a return to the Spider-Verse, and even Nike SB. It’s a strong mix, albeit a bit top heavy, that is poised to hold its own not only amongst other Air Jordans, but in the broader 2023 sneaker landscape as well. You may have to select a menu option or click a button. This year’s top Air Jordans run the gamut from originals to brand-new colorways, and from returning retros to collabs.
